Compassion and empathy are critical to Lisa Govel in her position as Medicaid Planning Supervisor. They're also key to clients feeling safe and secure in their decisions.
"Placing a loved one in a nursing home can be such an emotional time", Lisa says. "Before my grandmother passed away, she spent several years in a nursing home while my mom tried to care for her. So when people come in and are frustrated with Medicaid or a nursing home, I understand what they're going through. I've been through it before."
Her experience is not simply personal, but professional as well. Lisa was in charge of billing for a large nursing home before joining The Ettinger Law Firm nine years ago. "I know how they think and I know how they work," she says. "I can explain documents, invoices, what insurance covers."
