Ettinger Elder Law Estate Planning Process Ettinger Elder Law Estate Planning Process
- We will conduct a free estate planning audit to determine whether your current plan fully protects you and your family in the event of death or disability. More specifically, we will review your current will or trust, power of attorney, health care proxy, living will and any long-term care insurance you may have, to determine their adequacy. At this meeting, we will also endeavor to get to know you and your family and determine what is important to you.
- If we determine there are deficiencies in your current estate plan, we will recommend what changes you should make and provide a proposal in writing, detailing our recommendations and the cost. In preparing your estate plan, we will help you determine who should handle your legal, financial and medical affairs in the event of disability. Then, we will work together to decide (i) how and to whom you would like to leave your assets (ii) the best way to avoid taxes and reduce legal fees (iii) who you would like to settle your estate, and (iv) how to protect your assets from the cost of long-term care.
- If you decide to proceed with our recommendations, we will prepare and execute your estate plan with you. We will only request payment when you are completely satisfied with your new plan.
- As a client, we will monitor your estate plan at no charge with our trademarked program, "The Lifetime Estate Planning Process", where we provide:
- A free review of your plan every three years,
- Free computer tracking of your plan for law changes, and
- Our weekly Ettinger Elder Elert to provide you with information that you may need to know in the future.
With The Lifetime Estate Planning Process, you can be assured that your plan will work when you may need it, many years later.
